A Romantic Winter Wedding at Ebell Long Beach in California

Teri Nguyen and Alex Guo like to joke that their relationship has a “heavenly” beginning. ” We bumped into each other in the lounge at the Heavenly Ski Resort on Lake Tahoe, " says Teri. They had met once before, so Teri had no qualms about waving a garlic fry from Alex's tray - and at the end of their conversation it shook her heart, too.

After a six-year friendship, Alex recreated a history Teri made early in their relationship by bringing her to Mount Soledad, which has breathtaking views of San Diego below. “A friend of Alex's hid nearby, and while secretly taking pictures, Alex showed me a video that chronicled the last six years of our lives,” Teri says. “When the Video ended, I turned around and found Alex on my knee!”

The bride grew up in Long Beach, California, and her hometown wedding was the perfect choice for the Cali-based couple. They chose Ebell Long Beach for its breezy feel, lush plant life entering the exterior and killer tile floor. Planner Julia Kim from Rekindle Creative has developed the modern, romantic space with a palette of cream, blush, mauve, lavender and pale blue, combining shades for a winter wedding on the West Coast. And on February 23, 2019, Teri and Alex tied the knot in front of 230 guests.
